Our Process:
Consultation
We will meet with you to learn and gain an understanding about the scope of your project. Every design presents a unique set of challenges (opportunities) that include building site characteristics, building orientation, architectural style, energy needs, and building efficiency.
These parameters will all be taken into consideration as we work to help realize the design of your dream. From this consultation, we will draft a proposal outlining the goals and requirements of the design, and estimated design cost.
Plan Development
After we've reached an agreed upon proposal and it has been signed, we’ll work to provide you with a roughly blocked floor plan to examine the square footage needs of each space.
Once approved, the plan will be further refined to include cabinetry placement, fixtures, appliances, and potential furniture layout.
Three-dimensional Modeling
Once the floor plan is accepted, a three-dimensional massing model will be created. During this stage, the style of the structure will begin to develop, and the proportions of the building can be seen.
Once we decide on a form with this massing model, it can be built out with detail: windows, surface treatments, color, and more, to create a finished model.
Construction Drawings
When the appearance of the building is agreed upon, a package of construction drawings will be assembled. In combination with engineering and truss design (if selected), these construction drawings will be submitted by a licensed contractor of your choice to the local building department for approval.
We work with an engineer, and, in many cases, a truss company to ensure the structural needs of the design are met. These services are contracted separately from the services of dә’zīn LLC.
Once approved, the plan will be further refined to include cabinetry placement, fixtures, appliances, and potential furniture layout.
Additional Services
We can, for an additional fee, provide lighting, kitchen, and bathroom design beyond the general layout included with the construction drawings.
